अथवा दर्शनीयाभिः प्रमदाभिर् विलोभ्यताम् ॥
एकैकस् तत्र कौन्तेयस् ततः कृष्णा विरज्यताम् ॥
प्रेष्यतां वापि राधेयस् तेषाम् आगमनाय वै ॥
ते लोप्त्रहारैः संधाय वध्यन्ताम् आप्तकारिभिः ॥

Here malice piles temptation upon murder, falsehood upon treachery. It is telling that Duryodhana devises both seduction to break up the family and a staged "bandit attack" for secret murder: one villainy draws forth another. Here we see the truth that untruth knows no bounds and weaves vice upon vice. Thus the text reveals the depth of the plot's descent; and the piling up of schemes only multiplies the retribution to come.
