वैशंपायन उवाच
एवम् उक्त्वा ततः सर्वे भ्रातरो विपुलौजसः ॥
वार्ष्णेयः पाण्डवेयौ च प्रतस्थुर् मागधं पुरम् ॥
तुष्टपुष्टजनोपेतं चातुर्वर्ण्यजनाकुलम् ॥
स्फीतोत्सवम् अनाधृष्यम् आसेदुश् च गिरिव्रजम् ॥
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
evam uktvā tataḥ sarve bhrātaro vipulaujasaḥ ||
vārṣṇeyaḥ pāṇḍaveyau ca pratasthur māgadhaṃ puram ||
tuṣṭapuṣṭajanopetaṃ cāturvarṇyajanākulam ||
sphītotsavam anādhṛṣyam āseduś ca girivrajam ||
Vaishampayana said: "Having thus spoken, all the brothers of vast might — the Varshneya [Krishna] and the two Pandavas — set out for the Magadhan city and reached Girivraja, full of contented, well-fed people, swarming with people of the four classes, with lavish festivities, unassailable."

Here the enemy's stronghold appears flourishing and unassailable. It is telling that the three go against the impregnable alone, without an army: it is not by numbers but by the Lord's guidance that the unconquerable is taken. Thus the text shows that with Krishna even the small overcomes the great; and further they break the ancient peak.
