The Lord comes not empty-handed — He Himself brings "an inexhaustible ocean of jewels" for the sacrifice of His devotee. It is telling that He to whom everything belongs brings gifts to His servant, as though furthering him with a contribution of His own. This is the image of love's mutuality: the devotee offers everything to the Lord, and the Lord multiplies his means so that he may have something with which to serve. The verse teaches that the one whose heart is set on sacrifice for the sake of the Supreme will lack nothing: the Lord Himself will supply what is needed, and the offering will be accomplished not by man's poverty but by God's generosity.
