Vaishampayana said: 'Hearing that the Pandavas had been exiled and were burning with sorrow, the Bhojas, the Vrishnis together with the Andhakas, the heirs of Panchala, Dhrishtaketu of Chedi, and the illustrious brothers of Kekaya came to them in the great forest. Full of anger, they reproached the sons of Dhritarashtra and asked what was to be done. Placing Vasudeva at their head, the kshatriyas surrounded Yudhishthira and sat down. Krishna said: "The earth will drink the blood of Duryodhana, Karna, Shakuni, and Duhshasana. Then we shall anoint Yudhishthira to the kingdom. Whoever acts through deceit deserves death: such is the eternal dharma." Arjuna, seeing Keshava enraged, as though ready to burn up the world, began to calm him and to extol the former deeds of the immeasurable Purusha, Vishnu, lord of the worlds.'
