ततः कैलासनिलयो धनाध्यक्षो ऽभ्यभाषत ॥
दत्तेष्व् अस्त्रेषु दिव्येषु वरुणेन यमेन च ॥
सव्यसाचिन् महाबाहो पूर्वदेव सनातन ॥
सहास्माभिर् भवाञ् श्रान्तः पुराकल्पेषु नित्यशः ॥
मत्तो ऽपि त्वं गृहाणास्त्रम् अन्तर्धानं प्रियं मम ॥
ओजस्तेजोद्युतिहरं प्रस्वापनम् अरातिहन् ॥
ततो ऽर्जुनो महाबाहुर् विधिवत् कुरुनन्दनः ॥
कौबेरम् अपि जग्राह दिव्यम् अस्त्रं महाबलः ॥
tataḥ kailāsanilayo dhanādhyakṣo 'bhyabhāṣata ||
datteṣv astreṣu divyeṣu varuṇena yamena ca ||
savyasācin mahābāho pūrvadeva sanātana ||
sahāsmābhir bhavāñ śrāntaḥ purākalpeṣu nityaśaḥ ||
matto 'pi tvaṃ gṛhāṇāstram antardhānaṃ priyaṃ mama ||
ojastejodyutiharaṃ prasvāpanam arātihan ||
tato 'rjuno mahābāhur vidhivat kurunandanaḥ ||
kauberam api jagrāha divyam astraṃ mahābalaḥ ||
When Yama and Varuna had bestowed their divine weapons, the lord of riches who dwells on Kailasa spoke: 'Savyasachin, mighty-armed, ancient god, in ages past you labored constantly together with us. Accept from me too my beloved weapon of concealment: it lulls enemies to sleep and strips them of their strength, splendor, and vigor.' Mighty Arjuna accepted this divine Kaubera weapon as well, according to rule.

Kubera acknowledges Arjuna as a participant in the ancient divine labor. His gift is bound up with the enemy's inner depletion: victory comes not only by the blow, but also by stripping adharma of its splendor.
