Traducción

Who again, O king, could conquer in battle the Kurus, protected as they are by Drona, Bhishma, Ashvatthaman, Shalya, Kripa, and Karna, together with an army of kshatriya kings? Who, without loss to himself, is able to slay the vast force gathered by the son of Dhritarashtra? Therefore I see nothing good in either victory or defeat. How could the sons of Pritha, like men of base and lowly origin, commit an unrighteous deed? Therefore I propitiate and prostrate myself before Krishna and the aged king of the Panchalas. I take refuge in you as my shelter, with joined palms, so as to bring benefit to both the Kauravas and the Srinjayas. It is unlikely that Krishna or Dhananjaya would fail to carry out my words. Either of them would give up his very life if asked to do so. Therefore I say this for the success of my mission. Such is the wish of the king and his counselor Bhishma, that peace be confirmed between you (and the Kauravas)."
