Traducción

O Sanjaya, why does King Dhritarashtra now grieve, when all this prosperity is his? It is because from the first he followed the counsel of his wicked, corrupt-souled son, given over to crooked ways and settled in folly. Duryodhana scorned the words of Vidura, the best of his well-wishers, as though the latter were hostile to him. King Dhritarashtra, seeking only the satisfaction of his sons, has knowingly set foot upon the path of unrighteousness. Indeed, out of his love for his son, he paid no heed to Vidura, who among all the Kurus is the wisest and the best of his well-wishers, possessed of vast learning, skilled in speech, and righteous in conduct. King Dhritarashtra wishes only to satisfy his son -- a son who, himself grasping after honors from others, is envious and wrathful, who breaks the rules for acquiring virtue and wealth, whose tongue is foul, who ever follows the dictates of his own anger, whose soul is consumed by sensual pleasures, who, filled with hostility toward many, obeys no law, and whose life is wicked, whose heart is unrelenting, and whose understanding is corrupt.
