You should also ask after the welfare of Chitrasena, who has no equal at the game of dice, whose tricks are never noticed by others, who plays well, who is well versed in the art of dicing, and who is unconquered at play, though not in battle. You must also, O lord, learn of the welfare of Shakuni, king of the Gandharas, that native of the hill country, who has no equal in deceitful dicing, who feeds the pride of the son of Dhritarashtra, and whose understanding naturally leads to falsehood. You must also ask after the welfare of Karna, son of Vikartana, that hero who is ready to conquer, alone and unaided, riding his own chariot, the Pandavas whom no one dares assail in battle — that Karna who has no equal in deceiving those who are already led astray. You must also ask after the welfare of Vidura, O lord, who alone is devoted to us, who is our guide, who raised us, who is our father, mother and friend, whose understanding meets no obstacle in anything, whose knowledge reaches far, and who is our counselor. You must also greet all the aged ladies and those known for their merit, and those who are to us as mothers, meeting them assembled together in one place.
