निर्दग्धं भीमसेनेन सैन्यं हतरथद्विपम् ॥
गतिम् अग्नेर् इव प्रेक्ष्य स्मर्तासि वचनस्य मे ॥
महद् वो भयम् आगामि न चेच् छाम्यथ पाण्डवैः ॥
गदया भीमसेनेन हताः शमम् उपैष्यथ ॥
महावनम् इव छिन्नं यदा द्रक्ष्यसि पातितम् ॥
बलं कुरूणां संग्रामे तदा स्मर्तासि मे वचः ॥
वैशंपायन उवाच
एतावद् उक्त्वा राजा तु स सर्वान् पृथिवीपतीन् ॥
अनुभाष्य महाराज पुनः पप्रच्छ संजयम् ॥
nirdagdhaṃ bhīmasenena sainyaṃ hatarathadvipam ||
gatim agner iva prekṣya smartāsi vacanasya me ||
mahad vo bhayam āgāmi na cec chāmyatha pāṇḍavaiḥ ||
gadayā bhīmasenena hatāḥ śamam upaiṣyatha ||
mahāvanam iva chinnaṃ yadā drakṣyasi pātitam ||
balaṃ kurūṇāṃ saṃgrāme tadā smartāsi me vacaḥ ||
vaiśaṃpāyana uvāca
etāvad uktvā rājā tu sa sarvān pṛthivīpatīn ||
anubhāṣya mahārāja punaḥ papraccha saṃjayam ||
Before this comes to pass, let some good man go to Yudhishthira and entreat this son of Pandu, the best of men, to accept the kingdom offered him, without delay. There is no warrior on earth like Savyasachin, the valiant son of Pandu, whom none could daunt. The heavenly chariot of the wielder of the Gandiva is guarded by the gods themselves. He cannot be overcome by any man. Therefore do not set your hearts on war!
