अभ्यागच्छति दाशार्हे धार्तराष्ट्रो महायशाः ॥
उदतिष्ठत् सहामात्यः पूजयन् मधुसूदनम् ॥
समेत्य धार्तराष्ट्रेण सहामात्येन केशवः ॥
राजभिस् तत्र वार्ष्णेयः समागच्छद् यथावयः ॥
तत्र जाम्बूनदमयं पर्यङ्कं सुपरिष्कृतम् ॥
विविधास्तरणास्तीर्णम् अभ्युपाविशद् अच्युतः ॥
तस्मिन् गां मधुपर्कं च उपहृत्य जनार्दने ॥
निवेदयाम् आस तदा गृहान् राज्यं च कौरवः ॥
तत्र गोविन्दम् आसीनं प्रसन्नादित्यवर्चसम् ॥
उपासां चक्रिरे सर्वे कुरवो राजभिः सह ॥
abhyāgacchati dāśārhe dhārtarāṣṭro mahāyaśāḥ ||
udatiṣṭhat sahāmātyaḥ pūjayan madhusūdanam ||
sametya dhārtarāṣṭreṇa sahāmātyena keśavaḥ ||
rājabhis tatra vārṣṇeyaḥ samāgacchad yathāvayaḥ ||
tatra jāmbūnadamayaṃ paryaṅkaṃ supariṣkṛtam ||
vividhāstaraṇāstīrṇam abhyupāviśad acyutaḥ ||
tasmin gāṃ madhuparkaṃ ca upahṛtya janārdane ||
nivedayām āsa tadā gṛhān rājyaṃ ca kauravaḥ ||
tatra govindam āsīnaṃ prasannādityavarcasam ||
upāsāṃ cakrire sarve kuravo rājabhiḥ saha ||
And thousands of citizens, O king, on various chariots, and many on foot, likewise came out, longing to see Hrishikesha. And having met on the way Bhishma of flawless deeds, Drona, and the sons of Dhritarashtra, he entered the city surrounded by them all. And in honor of Krishna the city was beautifully adorned, and its main streets decked with various jewels and gems. And, O king, O bull among the Bharatas, on that occasion no one — neither man, woman, nor child — remained indoors, so eager were the citizens to behold Vasudeva.
