Traducción

It is here that I once caught, for food, a huge elephant fighting a huge tortoise. It is here that the great sage Chakradhanu was born of Surya. Afterward this divine sage became known by the name Kapila, and it was through him that the sixty thousand sons of Sagara perished. It is here that a class of brahmins called the Shivas, who had fully mastered the Vedas, crowned their efforts with ascetic success. Having studied all the Vedas, they at last attained eternal liberation. In this region lies the city of Bhogavati, ruled over by Vasuki, the naga Takshaka, and also Airavata.
