Traducción

"Neither Pandu, nor I, nor your grandfather ever wished upon you the blessing of acting with such a mind. I always wished for you sacrifice, generosity, austerity, heroism, the continuation of your line, greatness, strength, and vigor. The gods honored by men, when duly satisfied, grant long life, wealth, and sons; ancestors and deities always expect from sons generosity, study, sacrifice, and the protection of subjects. This dharma, or this adharma, you received already at birth. You were born into a learned lineage, yet now, my son, you suffer for want of the means of livelihood."
