इदं त्वाम् अब्रवीद् राजा धार्तराष्ट्रो महामनाः ॥
शृण्वतां कुरुवीराणां तन् निबोध नराधिप ॥
पराजितो ऽसि द्यूतेन कृष्णा चानायिता सभाम् ॥
शक्यो ऽमर्षो मनुष्येण कर्तुं पुरुषमानिना ॥
द्वादशैव तु वर्षाणि वने धिष्ण्याद् विवासिताः ॥
संवत्सरं विराटस्य दास्यम् आस्थाय चोषिताः ॥
अमर्षं राज्यहरणं वनवासं च पाण्डव ॥
द्रौपद्याश् च परिक्लेशं संस्मरन् पुरुषो भव ॥
अशक्तेन च यच् छप्तं भीमसेनेन पाण्डव ॥
दुःशासनस्य रुधिरं पीयतां यदि शक्यते ॥

saṃvatsaraṃ virāṭasya dāsyam āsthāya coṣitāḥ ||
amarṣaṃ rājyaharaṇaṃ vanavāsaṃ ca pāṇḍava ||
draupadyāś ca parikleśaṃ saṃsmaran puruṣo bhava ||
aśaktena ca yac chaptaṃ bhīmasenena pāṇḍava ||
duḥśāsanasya rudhiraṃ pīyatāṃ yadi śakyate ||
“This is what the magnanimous king, the son of Dhritarashtra, said to you; hear it, O lord of men, in the hearing of the heroes of Kuru. You were defeated at dice, and Krishna-Draupadi was brought into the assembly. A man who deems himself a man is capable of righteous anger. For twelve years you were exiled from your home into the forest, and for one year you lived in servitude to Virata. O Pandava, remembering your wrathful indignation, the seizure of your kingdom, the forest exile, and Draupadi's torment, be a man. And if you can, let Duhshasana's blood be drunk, O Pandava, as Bhimasena vowed in his powerlessness.”

In this chapter Uluka's speech becomes Duryodhana's harshest weapon. He recalls the Pandavas' real humiliations, but not for the sake of justice — only to wound and provoke. Notably, the boasting here is aimed at Arjuna: Duryodhana knows the strength of Krishna and the Gandiva, yet still clings to power, revealing a blindness that arguments can no longer cure.
