Traducción

Bhishma said: Then Rama, as if smiling, said to me: 'Fortunately, Bhishma, you wish to fight me in battle. Here I go with you to Kurukshetra; what was promised, I shall fulfill. Come there, O scorcher of foes. There your mother Jahnavi will see you slain by me, covered with hundreds of arrows and become the prey of vultures, crows, and herons. Beholding you pitiable and killed by me, that goddess, honored by Siddhas and Charanas, will weep today, O king. The most noble river, daughter of Bhagiratha, does not deserve such a fate — for she gave birth to you, foolish one, consumed by the craving for battle and the passion for war.'
