Traducción

"I have no peace here, for hearing that Devavrata, my father of terrible deeds, was slain in battle, sorrow has entered into me. You, Sanjaya, kindle the great grief in my heart caused by my sons, as though pouring ghee into fire. I think my sons must be grieving, having seen Bhishma laid low, for he bore a great burden renowned throughout the whole world. I am yet to hear of these sorrows wrought by Duryodhana; therefore tell me everything that happened there, Sanjaya. Tell me, in this battle of the lords of the earth, what was born of the folly of a fool — whether it was ill-conducted or well-conducted. Tell me also in full what Bhishma did there, seeking victory, full of splendor and master of weapons. Tell me how the battle between the armies of the Kurus and the Pandavas came to pass — in what order, by whom, at what time, what happened, and how."
