अहम् एव सुभद्रायाः केशवार्जुनयोर् अपि ॥
प्रियकामो जयाकाङ्क्षी कृतवान् इदम् अप्रियम् ॥
न लुब्धो बुध्यते दोषान् मोहाल् लोभः प्रवर्तते ॥
मधु लिप्सुर् हि नापश्यं प्रपातम् इदम् ईदृशम् ॥

aham eva subhadrāyāḥ keśavārjunayor api ||
priyakāmo jayākāṅkṣī kṛtavān idam apriyam ||
na lubdho budhyate doṣān mohāl lobhaḥ pravartate ||
madhu lipsur hi nāpaśyaṃ prapātam idam īdṛśam ||

प्रपातम् इदम् ईदृशम्prapātam idam īdṛśamsuch a precipice [abyss]; such an abyss
Traducción

"I alone, wishing well for Subhadra, Keshava, and Arjuna, craving victory, wrought this calamity. The covetous do not perceive their faults — from confusion avarice is born; for, lusting after honey, I did not perceive such an abyss."
