यदि विशति रसातलं तदग्र्यं; वियद् अपि देवपुरं दितेः पुरं वा ॥

"Should he enter even the deepest Rasātala, or the sky, the city of the gods, or the city of Diti — even there, at dawn, swooping down mightily, I shall sever the enemy's head with hundreds of arrows."

The image of pursuit through all worlds — 'rasātalam... viyat... devapuram... diteḥ puram' — completes the vow: there is no refuge, neither in the netherworld nor in the sky nor in the city of the gods or of the asuras. 'Prabhāte... ripoḥ śiraḥ abhihartā,' 'at dawn I shall sever the enemy's head,' fixes both the place (everywhere) and the deadline (the next day). It is telling that Arjuna does not threaten in general terms but names an exact outcome: Jayadratha's head by the close of the next day. The verse teaches that true resolve is concrete: it does not dissolve into vague threats but names the deed, the place, and the hour — and by this very precision hastens its own fulfillment.
