तं कर्णश् छादयाम् आस शरव्रातैर् अनेकशः ॥
संछाद्यमानः कर्णेन बहुधा पाण्डुनन्दनः ॥
चिच्छेद चापं कर्णस्य मुष्टिदेशे महारथः ॥
विव्याध चैनं बहुभिः सायकैर् नतपर्वभिः ॥
अथान्यद् धनुर् आदाय सज्यं कृत्वा च सूतजः ॥
विव्याध समरे भीमं भीमकर्मा महारथः ॥
तस्य भीमो भृशं क्रुद्धस् त्रीञ् शरान् नतपर्वणः ॥
निचखानोरसि तदा सूतपुत्रस्य वेगितः ॥

saṃchādyamānaḥ karṇena bahudhā pāṇḍunandanaḥ ||
ciccheda cāpaṃ karṇasya muṣṭideśe mahārathaḥ ||
vivyādha cainaṃ bahubhiḥ sāyakair nataparvabhiḥ ||
athānyad dhanur ādāya sajyaṃ kṛtvā ca sūtajaḥ ||
vivyādha samare bhīmaṃ bhīmakarmā mahārathaḥ ||
tasya bhīmo bhṛśaṃ kruddhas trīñ śarān nataparvaṇaḥ ||
nicakhānorasi tadā sūtaputrasya vegitaḥ ||

Traducción

Karna enveloped him with many swarms of arrows; being enveloped by Karna again and again, the delight of Pandu severed Karna's bow at the very grip, the great warrior, and struck him with many smooth-jointed arrows. Then, taking another bow and stringing it, the son of the suta, himself of terrible deeds, the great warrior, struck Bhima in battle.
