ततो भूरिश्रवाः क्रुद्धः सात्यकिं युद्धदुर्मदम् ॥
उद्यम्य न्यहनद् राजन् मत्तो मत्तम् इव द्विपम् ॥
रथस्थयोर् द्वयोर् युद्धे क्रुद्धयोर् योधमुख्ययोः ॥
केशवार्जुनयो राजन् समरे प्रेक्षमाणयोः ॥
अथ कृष्णो महाबाहुर् अर्जुनं प्रत्यभाषत ॥
पश्य वृष्ण्यन्धकव्याघ्रं सौमदत्तिवशं गतम् ॥
परिश्रान्तं गतं भूमौ कृत्वा कर्म सुदुष्करम् ॥
तवान्तेवासिनं शूरं पालयार्जुन सात्यकिम् ॥

paśya vṛṣṇyandhakavyāghraṃ saumadattivaśaṃ gatam ||
pariśrāntaṃ gataṃ bhūmau kṛtvā karma suduṣkaram ||
tavāntevāsinaṃ śūraṃ pālayārjuna sātyakim ||

Then Bhurishravas, enraged, lifted Satyaki, fierce in battle, and struck him down, O king, as a furious [elephant strikes] a furious elephant. As the two chariot-warriors, the enraged chiefs of the warriors, Keshava and Arjuna, O king, watched the battle -- then mighty-armed Krishna said to Arjuna: "Look at the tiger of the Vrishnis and Andhakas, fallen under the power of Saumadatti, exhausted, fallen to the ground, having accomplished a most difficult feat; protect your pupil, the hero Satyaki, O Arjuna."
