[Sanjaya:] At evening, having slain Saindhava, Partha, having joined with the king, and Satyaki, the great archer, charged at Drona. So too Yudhishthira swiftly, and Bhimasena the Pandava, separately, each with his own army, charged at Drona. Likewise wise Nakula and unconquerable Sahadeva, Dhrishtadyumna, Shatanika, and Virata with the Kekayas, and king Drupada, guarded by the Panchalas, the father of Dhrishtadyumna, o king, charged at Drona.

All the Pandava chiefs turn at once upon Drona alone: the concentrated will of an entire army seeks out the teacher. It is significant that their goal is one -- Drona, the root of the Kauravas' defense. The verse teaches that in the decisive hour all forces converge on a single point; and when a whole army is bent toward one aim, only he who is himself equal to many can withstand it -- yet even he is besieged by an unyielding, unified will.
