इत्य् उक्त्वा दारुकम् इदं वाक्यम् आह धनंजयः ॥
अमात्यान् वृष्णिवीराणां द्रष्टुम् इच्छामि माचिरम् ॥
इत्य् एवम् उक्त्वा वचनं सुधर्मां यादवीं सभाम् ॥
प्रविवेशार्जुनः शूरः शोचमानो महारथान् ॥
तम् आसनगतं तत्र सर्वाः प्रकृतयस् तथा ॥
ब्राह्मणा नैगमाश् चैव परिवार्योपतस्थिरे ॥
तान् दीनमनसः सर्वान् निभृतान् गतचेतसः ॥
उवाचेदं वचः पार्थः स्वयं दीनतरस् तदा ॥
शक्रप्रस्थम् अहं नेष्ये वृष्ण्यन्धकजनं स्वयम् ॥
इदं तु नगरं सर्वं समुद्रः प्लावयिष्यति ॥
ity uktvā dārukam idaṃ vākyam āha dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
amātyān vṛṣṇivīrāṇāṃ draṣṭum icchāmi māciram ||
ity evam uktvā vacanaṃ sudharmāṃ yādavīṃ sabhām ||
praviveśārjunaḥ śūraḥ śocamāno mahārathān ||
tam āsanagataṃ tatra sarvāḥ prakṛtayas tathā ||
brāhmaṇā naigamāś caiva parivāryopatasthire ||
tān dīnamanasaḥ sarvān nibhṛtān gatacetasaḥ ||
uvācedaṃ vacaḥ pārthaḥ svayaṃ dīnataras tadā ||
śakraprastham ahaṃ neṣye vṛṣṇyandhakajanaṃ svayam ||
idaṃ tu nagaraṃ sarvaṃ samudraḥ plāvayiṣyati ||
Having spoken thus, mighty Dhananjaya delivered this message to Daruka: 'I wish to see the heroes of the Vrishnis assembled — go, inform them quickly, make haste, make haste!'

Amid universal confusion, Arjuna takes upon himself the burden of guiding those who remain. The repeated 'make haste, make haste' conveys the urgency of the moment: there is no time to spare; the survivors must be gathered at once.
