Rādhā-kṛṣṇa-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā

"The Lamp Naming the Companions of Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa" — Rūpa Gosvāmī's handbook, finished in 1550 at Nandagrāma. It lists the people of Vraja: the families of Kṛṣṇa and Rādhā, their friends, servants and maids, and Rādhā's companions by their circles of closeness — with parents, husbands, complexion and dress, temperament and service. The greater part deals with parental and conjugal love, the lesser with friendship and service, and at the end with Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa themselves: ornaments, favourite songs, cows and groves. The book underlies the remembrance (smaraṇa) of the eternal līlā of Vraja.
