वैशंपायन उवाच
एवं स तान् समाश्वास्य व्यासः पार्थान् अरिंदमान् ॥
एकचक्राम् अभिगतः कुन्तीम् आश्वासयत् प्रभुः ॥
जीवपुत्रि सुतस् ते ऽयं धर्मपुत्रो युधिष्ठिरः ॥
पृथिव्यां पार्थिवान् सर्वान् प्रशासिष्यति धर्मराट् ॥
धर्मेण जित्वा पृथिवीम् अखिलां धर्मविद् वशी ॥
भीमसेनार्जुनबलाद् भोक्ष्यत्य् अयम् असंशयः ॥

pṛthivyāṃ pārthivān sarvān praśāsiṣyati dharmarāṭ ||
dharmeṇa jitvā pṛthivīm akhilāṃ dharmavid vaśī ||
bhīmasenārjunabalād bhokṣyaty ayam asaṃśayaḥ ||

जीवपुत्रि सुतः ते अयं धर्मपुत्रः युधिष्ठिरःjīvaputri sutaḥ te ayaṃ dharmaputraḥ yudhiṣṭhiraḥ'O you with living sons, this son of yours, Yudhishthira, son of Dharma,
पृथिव्यां पार्थिवान् सर्वान् प्रशासिष्यति धर्मराट्pṛthivyāṃ pārthivān sarvān praśāsiṣyati dharmarāṭwill rule over all kings on earth, the king of dharma;
धर्मेण जित्वा पृथिवीम् अखिलां धर्मवित् वशीdharmeṇa jitvā pṛthivīm akhilāṃ dharmavit vaśīhaving conquered the whole earth by dharma, the knower of dharma, self-controlled,
भीमसेनार्जुनबलात् भोक्ष्यति अयम् असंशयःbhīmasenārjunabalāt bhokṣyati ayam asaṃśayaḥby the strength of Bhimasena and Arjuna he will possess [it], without doubt;

अनुवाद

Vaishampayana said: 'So, having consoled them, the Parthas, subduers of foes, Vyasa, having come to Ekachakra, consoled Kunti, the lord.' Vyasa said: 'O you with living sons, this son of yours, Yudhishthira, son of Dharma, will rule over all kings on earth, the king of dharma; having conquered the whole earth by dharma, the knower of dharma, self-controlled, will possess it by the strength of Bhimasena and Arjuna, without doubt.'
