रक्ष्यतां सौहृदं तस्माद् अन्योन्यप्रतिभाविकम् ॥
यथा वो नात्र भेदः स्यात् तत् कुरुष्व युधिष्ठिर ॥

Here the holy one makes brotherly affection the foremost concern. It is telling that Narada directly commands them to 'guard affection': harmony does not sustain itself but requires vigilant safeguarding. Here it becomes clear that unity is a treasure that must be guarded consciously and continually. Thus the scripture shows the charge to preserve brotherly love; and upon it the Pandavas' rule concerning Draupadi will be founded.
