नारद उवाच
उत्सवे वृत्तमात्रे तु त्रैलोक्याकाङ्क्षिणाव् उभौ ॥
मन्त्रयित्वा ततः सेनां ताव् आज्ञापयतां तदा ॥
सुहृद्भिर् अभ्यनुज्ञातौ दैत्यवृद्धैश् च मन्त्रिभिः ॥
कृत्वा प्रास्थानिकं रात्रौ मघासु ययतुस् तदा ॥

kṛtvā prāsthānikaṃ rātrau maghāsu yayatus tadā ||

मन्त्रयित्वा ततः सेनां तौ आज्ञापयतां तदाmantrayitvā tataḥ senāṃ tau ājñāpayatāṃ tadāhaving taken counsel, then commanded the army to march;
सुहृद्भिः अभ्यनुज्ञातौ दैत्यवृद्धैः च मन्त्रिभिःsuhṛdbhiḥ abhyanujñātau daityavṛddhaiḥ ca mantribhiḥsent off with blessings by their friends and the elder counselors of the daityas,
कृत्वा प्रास्थानिकं रात्रौ मघासु ययतुः तदाkṛtvā prāsthānikaṃ rātrau maghāsu yayatuḥ tadāhaving performed the rite of departure, at night, under the constellation Maghā, they set out;

अनुवाद

Narada said: "As soon as the festival had ended, the two of them, both craving the three worlds, having taken counsel, commanded the army to march; sent off with blessings by their friends and the elder counselors of the daityas, having performed the rite of departure, at night, under the constellation Maghā, they set out."
