ततः अहम् भरतश्रेष्ठ प्रगृह्य रुचिरम् धनुः शरैः अपातयम् सौभात् शिरांसि विबुधद्विषाम्tataḥ aham bharataśreṣṭha pragṛhya ruciram dhanuḥ śaraiḥ apātayam saubhāt śirāṃsi vibudhadviṣāmThen, O best of the Bharatas, taking up my splendid bow, I began knocking the heads of the gods' enemies from the Saubha with arrows
शरान् च आशीविषाकारान् ऊर्ध्वगान् तिग्मतेजसः अप्रैषम् शाल्वराजाय शार्ङ्गमुक्तान् सुवाससःśarān ca āśīviṣākārān ūrdhvagān tigmatejasaḥ apraiṣam śālvarājāya śārṅgamuktān suvāsasaḥAnd I sent arrows shaped like venomous serpents, flying upward, fiercely blazing, beautifully feathered, loosed from the Sharnga, into King Shalva
