अनुवाद

Vaishampayana said: 'Thus these heroes, dwelling now here, now there, gradually came, lord of the earth, to Naimisharanya. At the sacred tirthas of Gomati the Pandavas performed ablutions and gave cows and wealth. There, again and again satisfying the gods, ancestors and brahmins, the Kauravas visited Kanya-tirtha, Ashva-tirtha and Gavam-tirtha. Having dwelt on Mount Valakoti and at Vrishaprastha, they all performed ablution at Bahuda. At Prayaga, the place of the gods' sacrifices, having bathed their bodies, they dwelt and practiced the highest austerity. At the confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna, true to their word, free from sin and great of soul, they gave wealth to the brahmins. Then the sons of Pandu, together with the brahmins, came to the altar of Prajapati, frequented by ascetics. There the heroes dwelt and practiced great austerity, constantly satisfying the twice-born with forest offerings.'
