भीम उवाच
राक्षसास् तं न पश्यामि धनेश्वरम् इहान्तिके ॥
दृष्ट्वापि च महाराजं नाहं याचितुम् उत्सहे ॥
न हि याचन्ति राजान एष धर्मः सनातनः ॥
न चाहं हातुम् इच्छामि क्षात्रधर्मं कथं चन ॥
इयं च नलिनी रम्या जाता पर्वतनिर्झरे ॥
नेयं भवनम् आसाद्य कुबेरस्य महात्मनः ॥
तुल्या हि सर्वभूतानाम् इयं वैश्रवणस्य च ॥
एवंगतेषु द्रव्येषु कः कं याचितुम् अर्हति ॥

rākṣasās taṃ na paśyāmi dhaneśvaram ihāntike ||
dṛṣṭvāpi ca mahārājaṃ nāhaṃ yācitum utsahe ||
na hi yācanti rājāna eṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
na cāhaṃ hātum icchāmi kṣātradharmaṃ kathaṃ cana ||
iyaṃ ca nalinī ramyā jātā parvatanirjhare ||
neyaṃ bhavanam āsādya kuberasya mahātmanaḥ ||
tulyā hi sarvabhūtānām iyaṃ vaiśravaṇasya ca ||
evaṃgateṣu dravyeṣu kaḥ kaṃ yācitum arhati ||
Bhima said: 'I will not ask: kshatriyas do not obtain what they desire by pleading. This lake was born on the mountain and belongs to all beings, not to Kubera alone. I shall enter the water and take the flowers by my own strength.'
