Seeing him running so swiftly, the Kurus said: ‘Who is this, hidden in disguise, like a fire covered in ashes? There is something of a man in him, and something of a woman; he resembles Arjuna and bears the form of one neither man nor woman. That same head and neck, those same arms like iron bars, that same bearing — this is none other than Dhananjaya. As Indra is among the gods, so is Dhananjaya among men. Who else in the world besides Dhananjaya would come at us alone? The only son of Virata was stationed in the empty city; he must have gone forth out of childish nature, not out of manhood. Surely Uttara, having made the disguised-by-vow Partha Arjuna his charioteer, has come out of the city. I think, having seen our banners, he took fright and is fleeing; and this Dhananjaya surely wants to seize him as he runs.’ So all the Kurus, pondering variously, could come to no decision at all, O Bharata, as they gazed upon this Pandava, hidden by his vow.

Even enemies recognize strength through a disguise. The form may be unclear, but Arjuna's nature shows through in his gait, his shoulders, and his fearlessness.
