अनुवाद

Shalya said: 'Then all the Rishis and the exalted gods said: “Let the glorious Nahusha be consecrated as king of the gods. He is mighty and renowned, and ever more devoted to virtue.” And they all went to him and said: “O lord of the earth, be our king.” And Nahusha, seeking their welfare, said to those gods and sages, accompanied by the forefathers, O king: “I am weak; I have no power to protect you; a mighty man should be your king; it is Indra who has always possessed such power.” Then all the gods, led by the sages, said to him again: “Endowed with the strength of our austerities, protect the kingdom of heaven. There is no doubt that we live in dreadful mutual fear of one another.”'
