अनुवाद

"But we, the gods, the gandharvas, and the sages, entreat you, O radiant one, to give the queen of Indra to Nahusha. Nahusha, the king of the gods, possessed of great splendor, surpasses Indra. Let her, this lady of beautiful form and complexion, choose him as her lord!" At these words the goddess gave way to tears; weeping aloud, she grieved with a plaintive voice. And she said to Brihaspati: "O foremost of the divine sages, I do not wish Nahusha to be my lord. I have taken refuge in your protection, O brahmana! Deliver me from this great danger!" Brihaspati said: "My resolve is this: I will not abandon one who has sought my protection. O you of spotless life, I will not forsake you, virtuous as you are and of truthful character!"
