धृतराष्ट्र उवाच
अनुक्तं यदि ते किं चिद् वाचा विदुर विद्यते ॥
तन् मे शुश्रूषवे ब्रूहि विचित्राणि हि भाषसे ॥
विदुर उवाच
धृतराष्ट्र कुमारो वै यः पुराणः सनातनः ॥
सनत्सुजातः प्रोवाच मृत्युर् नास्तीति भारत ॥
स ते गुह्यान् प्रकाशांश् च सर्वान् हृदयसंश्रयान् ॥
प्रवक्ष्यति महाराज सर्वबुद्धिमतां वरः ॥
धृतराष्ट्र उवाच
किं त्वं न वेद तद् भूयो यन् मे ब्रूयात् सनातनः ॥
त्वम् एव विदुर ब्रूहि प्रज्ञाशेषो ऽस्ति चेत् तव ॥
विदुर उवाच
शूद्रयोनाव् अहं जातो नातो ऽन्यद् वक्तुम् उत्सहे ॥
कुमारस्य तु या बुद्धिर् वेद तां शाश्वतीम् अहम् ॥

anuktaṃ yadi te kiṃ cid vācā vidura vidyate ||
tan me śuśrūṣave brūhi vicitrāṇi hi bhāṣase ||
vidura uvāca
dhṛtarāṣṭra kumāro vai yaḥ purāṇaḥ sanātanaḥ ||
sanatsujātaḥ provāca mṛtyur nāstīti bhārata ||
sa te guhyān prakāśāṃś ca sarvān hṛdayasaṃśrayān ||
pravakṣyati mahārāja sarvabuddhimatāṃ varaḥ ||
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca
kiṃ tvaṃ na veda tad bhūyo yan me brūyāt sanātanaḥ ||
tvam eva vidura brūhi prajñāśeṣo 'sti cet tava ||
vidura uvāca
śūdrayonāv ahaṃ jāto nāto 'nyad vaktum utsahe ||
kumārasya tu yā buddhir veda tāṃ śāśvatīm aham ||
Dhritarashtra: (Sanatsujata Parva) Dhritarashtra said: 'If there is still something you have not said, O Vidura, speak it now, for I am eager to hear it. Your speech is truly wondrous.' Vidura said: 'O Dhritarashtra, O descendant of Bharata, that ancient and immortal Rishi Sanatsujata, who lives a life of eternal celibacy and has declared that Death does not exist -- he, the greatest of all the wise -- will explain to you all the doubts in your mind, both spoken and unspoken.' Dhritarashtra said: 'Do you not know what this immortal Rishi would tell me? O Vidura, tell it yourself, if you truly possess such a measure of wisdom.' Vidura said: 'I was born in the order of Shudras, and therefore I dare not say more than I have already said.'
