Dhritarashtra said: "Consider, O Duryodhana, dear son, what I am telling you. Like an ignorant traveler, you imagine that the wrong path might turn out to be the right one, since you desire to steal away the strength of the five sons of Pandu, who, like the five elements of the universe, in their subtle form sustain all things moving and unmoving. Without a certain sacrifice of your own life, you will not be able to defeat Yudhishthira, son of Kunti, who is the foremost of all virtuous men in this world. Alas, like a tree defying a mighty storm, you provoke Bhimasena, who has no equal (among men) in might and who is equal to Yama himself in battle. What man can meet in battle the wielder of the Gandiva, who is the foremost of all bearers of weapons, as Meru is among mountains? Might not the prince of Panchala overthrow (you), loosing his arrows upon the enemy like the chief of the gods hurling his thunderbolt? That revered warrior of the Andhakas and Vrishnis, the invincible Satyaki, ever devoted to the good of the Pandavas, will likewise destroy your army; and again, what sensible man would confront the lotus-eyed Krishna, who in energy and strength surpasses the three worlds?"
