तस्य सर्वं सविस्तारं पाण्डवानां विचेष्टितम् ॥
क्षत्तुर् आचष्ट दाशार्हः सर्वप्रत्यक्षदर्शिवान् ॥

अनुवाद
Keshava wishes for peace to be established between you and Duryodhana on one side and the Pandavas on the other. Follow his counsel, O king. You are their father, O king, and the Pandavas are your sons. You are old, and to you they are children in years; act as a father toward those who are inclined to show you a son's reverence.'

This passage (5.87.26) carries forward the central theme of the Udyoga-parva: the effort for peace unfolds even as war draws inevitably near. The Pandavas are the key figures here. Dharma reveals itself through speech, through the choice of an embassy, through faithfulness to one's word, and through the responsibility kings bear for the consequences of their decisions.
