अनुवाद

And withal they are not satisfied, like small men of low desires. The wise take pleasure or suffer equally from whatever is pleasant or bearable. Indeed, ordinary men, who seek the comfort that satisfies the low and the middling, desire a uniform state of dullness free of any agitation. But those who are higher desire either the sharpest human suffering or the highest of all the joys granted to man. The wise ever delight in extremes. They find no pleasure in the middle ground; the utmost extreme they call happiness, and what lies between they call misfortune. "The Pandavas, together with Krishna, greet you through me. Presenting themselves as being in good health, they have asked after your welfare. Soon you shall see them become lords of the whole world, their enemies slain, and they themselves attaining prosperity." Thus consoled by Krishna, Kunti — grieving for her sons, yet soon dispelling the darkness caused by her momentary loss of understanding — answered Janardana, saying: "Whatever you, O mighty-armed one, O slayer of Madhu, deem fit to do, let it be done without sacrificing righteousness, O chastiser of foes, and without the slightest guile. I know, O Krishna, the strength of your truth and your lineage. I also know what judgment and what valor you bring to accomplishing all that concerns your friends. In our line you are the essence of Virtue, you are Truth, and you are the embodiment of ascetic austerity. You are the great Brahma, and all that you have said must be true." Vaishampayana continued: "Having taken leave of her and respectfully circled her, the mighty-armed Govinda set out for the mansion of Duryodhana."
