अत्र दत्तानि सूर्येण यजूंषि द्विजसत्तम ॥
अत्र लब्धवरैः सोमः सुरैः क्रतुषु पीयते ॥
अत्र तृप्ता हुतवहाः स्वां योनिम् उपभुञ्जते ॥
अत्र पातालम् आश्रित्य वरुणः श्रियम् आप च ॥
अत्र पूर्वं वसिष्ठस्य पौराणस्य द्विजर्षभ ॥
सूतिश् चैव प्रतिष्ठा च निधनं च प्रकाशते ॥
ओंकारस्यात्र जायन्ते सूतयो दशतीर् दश ॥
पिबन्ति मुनयो यत्र हविर्धाने स्म सोमपाः ॥
प्रोक्षिता यत्र बहवो वराहाद्या मृगा वने ॥
शक्रेण यत्र भागार्थे दैवतेषु प्रकल्पिताः ॥

oṃkārasyātra jāyante sūtayo daśatīr daśa ||
pibanti munayo yatra havirdhāne sma somapāḥ ||
prokṣitā yatra bahavo varāhādyā mṛgā vane ||
śakreṇa yatra bhāgārthe daivateṣu prakalpitāḥ ||
And while he stood there, an ascetic named Galava began to attend upon him, moved by respect and reverence, as well as by affection and a wish to please. And when a hundred years had passed, Dharma, once more assuming the form of Vasishtha, came to Kaushika out of a desire to eat. And seeing the great Rishi Vishvamitra, endowed with lofty wisdom, standing there with that food upon his head, and himself sustained all this time upon air, Dharma accepted that food, which was still warm and fresh. And having eaten that food, the god said: 'I am satisfied, O twice-born sage.' And having said this, he departed. And at these words of Dharma, Vishvamitra was freed from the status of a kshatriya, for he attained the status of a brahmin and was filled with rapture. And though he was pleased with the service and devotion of the ascetic Galava's discipline, Vishvamitra turned to him and said: 'With my leave, O Galava, go wherever you wish.' At his teacher's bidding, Galava, greatly pleased, said to Vishvamitra in a sweet, radiant voice: 'What final gift may I offer you in return for your services as my teacher?'
