अस्ति सोमान्ववाये मे जातः कश् चिन् नृपः सखा ॥
अभिगच्छावहे तं वै तस्यास्ति विभवो भुवि ॥
ययातिर् नाम राजर्षिर् नाहुषः सत्यविक्रमः ॥
स दास्यति मया चोक्तो भवता चार्थितः स्वयम् ॥
विभवश् चास्य सुमहान् आसीद् धनपतेर् इव ॥
एवं स तु धनं विद्वान् दानेनैव व्यशोधयत् ॥
तथा तौ कथयन्तौ च चिन्तयन्तौ च यत् क्षमम् ॥
प्रतिष्ठाने नरपतिं ययातिं प्रत्युपस्थितौ ॥
प्रतिगृह्य च सत्कारम् अर्घादिं भोजनं वरम् ॥
पृष्टश् चागमने हेतुम् उवाच विनतासुतः ॥

abhigacchāvahe taṃ vai tasyāsti vibhavo bhuvi ||

sa dāsyati mayā cokto bhavatā cārthitaḥ svayam ||
vibhavaś cāsya sumahān āsīd dhanapater iva ||
evaṃ sa tu dhanaṃ vidvān dānenaiva vyaśodhayat ||
tathā tau kathayantau ca cintayantau ca yat kṣamam ||
pratiṣṭhāne narapatiṃ yayātiṃ pratyupasthitau ||
pratigṛhya ca satkāram arghādiṃ bhojanaṃ varam ||
pṛṣṭaś cāgamane hetum uvāca vinatāsutaḥ ||

अनुवाद

Garuda continued: "In the lunar dynasty I have a certain friend who is a ruler. Let us go to him: he has wealth upon the earth. This is Yayati, a royal sage, son of Nahusha, truly valiant. If I ask him and you yourself request it, he will give. His wealth was very great, like that of Kubera, but being wise, he purified it through giving alone." So the two of them went on, talking and considering what would be fitting, and arrived in Pratishthana before King Yayati. Having received honor, the argha offering, and an excellent feast, the son of Vinata, when asked the reason for his coming, said.
