अनुवाद

With banners cast down there, with bows and tomaras, with spears and maces, with parighas and kampanas, with shaktis and many-colored armor, with kanapas and ankushas, with bright, unstained swords, with gold-feathered arrows, with coverings, saddle-cloths, and costly blankets, the earth, O best of the Bharatas, seemed adorned as if with garlands. But with the fallen bodies of men, horses, and elephants in the great battle, the earth became almost impassable, miry with flesh and blood. The dust of the earth, drenched with the blood of battle, settled, and all the directions grew clear again, O lord of men. Everywhere countless headless trunks rose up, becoming omens of destruction for the world, O Bharata. While that most dreadful and terrible battle went on, charioteers were seen running about in every direction.
