अनुवाद

Having seen that army arrayed, your father Devavrata, o king, drew up his own army in the great krauncha formation to meet it. At its beak shone the great archer Bharadvaja; Ashvatthaman and Kripa were its eyes, o lord of men. Kritavarman, best of men and a superb bowman, together with the Kambojas, Arattas, and Bahlikas, stood at the head. At the neck were Shurasena and your son, o venerable one, King Duryodhana, surrounded by many kings, o great king. Pragjyotisha, together with the Madras, Sauviras, and Kekayas, surrounded by a large army, was at the chest, o best of men. Susharman, lord of Prasthala, together with his own army, took up the left wing and stood there armed. The Tusharas, Yavanas, Shakas, and Chuchupas took up the right wing of the formation, o Bharata. Shrutayus, Shatayus, and Saumadatti stood at the rear of the formation, o venerable one, guarding one another. Then the Pandavas and the Kauravas came together for battle, and at sunrise, o great king, a great battle began.'
