तस्य हस्तस्थिता शक्तिः कालरात्रिर् इवोद्यता ॥
दैवोपहतबुद्धित्वान् न तां कर्णो विमुक्तवान् ॥
कृष्णे वा देवकीपुत्रे मोहितो देवमायया ॥
पार्थे वा शक्रकल्पे वै वधार्थं वासवीं प्रभो ॥

tasya hastasthitā śaktiḥ kālarātrir ivodyatā ||
daivopahatabuddhitvān na tāṃ karṇo vimuktavān ||
kṛṣṇe vā devakīputre mohito devamāyayā ||
pārthe vā śakrakalpe vai vadhārthaṃ vāsavīṃ prabho ||

अनुवाद

The spear that was in his hand, raised up like the night of doom -- from a mind clouded by fate Karna did not loose it, neither at Krishna, son of Devaki, deluded by the divine illusion, nor at Partha, equal to Shakra, for the slaying -- that Vasavi [Indra's spear], O lord.
