सर्वभूतस्थम् आत्मानं सर्वभूतानि चात्मनि संपश्यन् ब्रह्म परमं याति नान्येन हेतुना

अनुवाद
He who beholds the Ātman abiding in all beings, and all beings in the Ātman, goes to the highest Brahman — and by no other cause.

A verse on what the knowing consists in, and it is double: the Ātman in all beings — and all beings in the Ātman.
These are not the same thing, and therefore it is said twice.
The first: in everyone you meet, He is. The second: everyone you meet is in Him.
The first teaches to look deep; the second, to look wide. Either without the other falls short: seeing only the first, a man will seek God in each and lose sight of the whole; seeing only the second, he will dissolve everyone into a generality and cease to distinguish faces.
The Īśā Upaniṣad says the same and adds the conclusion: “he who sees all beings in the Ātman and the Ātman in all beings shrinks from nothing”.
The Gītā repeats it twice and concludes: “he does not lose Me, and I do not lose him”.
Note the verb: saṃpaśyan — “beholding, seeing together”. The prefix sam- denotes conjunction: to see both at once, not by turns.
And the last: nānyena hetunā — “not by any other cause”. The fruit is given neither for rite nor for austerity: it comes of this very seeing.
