译文

Suta said: "Then he, having removed from Vasuki [his] terrible fever of the mind and taken it upon his own limbs, set out in haste, with great speed. Astika, most noble of the twice-born, [went] to that sacrifice of Janamejaya, endowed with every virtue — for the deliverance of the lords of serpents. Arriving, Astika saw the excellent sacrificial precinct, surrounded by many members of the assembly, shining like the sun and fire. [But] that most noble of the twice-born was stopped by the gatekeepers as he entered; and, wishing to enter, the best of the twice-born praised that sacrifice."
