ततो ऽभिगम्य सहिताः सर्व एव महर्षयः ॥
सुन्दोपसुन्दयोः कर्म सर्वम् एव शशंसिरे ॥
यथाकृतं यथा चैव कृतं येन क्रमेण च ॥
न्यवेदयंस् ततः सर्वम् अखिलेन पितामहे ॥
ततो देवगणाः सर्वे ते चैव परमर्षयः ॥
तम् एवार्थं पुरस्कृत्य पितामहम् अचोदयन् ॥
tato 'bhigamya sahitāḥ sarva eva maharṣayaḥ ||
sundopasundayoḥ karma sarvam eva śaśaṃsire ||
yathākṛtaṃ yathā caiva kṛtaṃ yena krameṇa ca ||
nyavedayaṃs tataḥ sarvam akhilena pitāmahe ||
tato devagaṇāḥ sarve te caiva paramarṣayaḥ ||
tam evārthaṃ puraskṛtya pitāmaham acodayan ||
"Then, having approached all together, the great sages related the whole deed of Sunda and Upasunda — how it was done and in what order it was done — and reported everything in full to the Grandsire; and all the hosts of gods and the supreme sages, placing that matter foremost, urged the Grandsire to act."

Here the calamity is brought before the highest court. It is significant that the saints do not themselves execute vengeance but appeal to the Grandsire: righteous retribution comes from above, not from self-willed revenge. In this is a lesson: the suffering should entrust judgment to the higher power. Thus scripture shows trust in Providence; and Brahma will take the matter in hand for resolution.
