译文

'Behold the power of maya: Ishvara slays beings through other beings, deluding them with his own maya. The sages see one thing, yet everything changes otherwise; people think one thing, but the lord does and undoes it differently. As wood cuts wood, stone cuts stone, and iron cuts iron, so the self-existent forefather strikes beings down with beings. He joins and parts them, playing with beings as a child plays with toys. Seeing the noble and modest in poverty, and the ignoble happy, I am troubled. Seeing your calamity and Suyodhana's prosperity, I blame Dhatri. If the deed follows the doer and does not fall upon another, then Ishvara is surely stained by that evil deed; but if the evil deed done does not fall upon the doer, then force alone is the cause here, and I grieve for the weak.'
