यवक्रीर् उवाच
प्रतिभास्यन्ति वै वेदा मम तातस्य चोभयोः ॥
अति चान्यान् भविष्यावो वरा लब्धास् तथा मया ॥
भरद्वाज उवाच
दर्पस् ते भविता तात वरांल् लब्ध्वा यथेप्सितान् ॥
स दर्पपूर्णः कृपणः क्षिप्रम् एव विनश्यसि ॥
yavakrīr uvāca
pratibhāsyanti vai vedā mama tātasya cobhayoḥ ||
ati cānyān bhaviṣyāvo varā labdhās tathā mayā ||
bharadvāja uvāca
darpas te bhavitā tāta varāṃl labdhvā yathepsitān ||
sa darpapūrṇaḥ kṛpaṇaḥ kṣipram eva vinaśyasi ||
Yavakri said: "The Vedas will appear to me and to my father, to us both. And we will surpass others: such boons I have obtained." Bharadvaja said: "Child, having obtained the boons you desired, you will become proud. Filled with that pride, wretched one, you will perish very soon."
