Having said this, they set off quickly, following the same tracks, sighing again and again like serpents and drawing the strings of their great bows. Then they saw the dust of his army, raised by the hooves of horses, and Dhaumya amid the foot-soldiers, crying out: 'Bhima, run!' Having comforted Dhaumya -- 'May it go well with you' -- the princes, their hearts seized with grief, rushed swiftly upon that army like hawks swooping down on flesh. In these heroes, whose valor rivaled Mahendra's and who burned with fury at the outrage done to the daughter of Yajnasena, wrath blazed up when they saw their beloved standing on Jayadratha's chariot. Bhima, Dhananjaya, the twins, and the king, the great archers, cried out at the king of Sindhu; and then the enemy ranks fell into confusion.

The pursuit answers not only personal pain but the trampled honor of dharma. The Pandavas act as a single body.
