अथाब्रवीन् महाबाहुर् भीमसेनो महाबलः ॥
राजानं बलिनां श्रेष्ठो गिरा संपरिहर्षयन् ॥
अवेक्षया महाराज तव गाण्डीवधन्वना ॥
धर्मानुगतया बुद्ध्या न किं चित् साहसं कृतम् ॥
सहदेवो मया नित्यं नकुलश् च निवारितौ ॥
शक्तौ विध्वंसने तेषां शत्रुघ्नौ भीमविक्रमौ ॥
न वयं तत् प्रहास्यामो यस्मिन् योक्ष्यति नो भवान् ॥
भवान् विधत्तां तत् सर्वं क्षिप्रं जेष्यामहे परान् ॥
इत्य् उक्ते भीमसेनेन ब्राह्मणाः परमाशिषः ॥
प्रयुज्यापृच्छ्य भरतान् यथास्वान् स्वान् ययुर् गृहान् ॥
सर्वे वेदविदो मुख्या यतयो मुनयस् तथा ॥
आशीर् उक्त्वा यथान्यायं पुनर् दर्शनकाङ्क्षिणः ॥
सह धौम्येन विद्वांसस् तथा ते पञ्च पाण्डवाः ॥
उत्थाय प्रययुर् वीराः कृष्णाम् आदाय भारत ॥
क्रोशमात्रम् अतिक्रम्य तस्माद् देशान् निमित्ततः ॥
श्वोभूते मनुजव्याघ्राश् छन्नवासार्थम् उद्यताः ॥
पृथक्शास्त्रविदः सर्वे सर्वे मन्त्रविशारदाः ॥
संधिविग्रहकालज्ञा मन्त्राय समुपाविशन् ॥

saha dhaumyena vidvāṃsas tathā te pañca pāṇḍavāḥ ||
utthāya prayayur vīrāḥ kṛṣṇām ādāya bhārata ||
krośamātram atikramya tasmād deśān nimittataḥ ||
śvobhūte manujavyāghrāś channavāsārtham udyatāḥ ||
pṛthakśāstravidaḥ sarve sarve mantraviśāradāḥ ||
saṃdhivigrahakālajñā mantrāya samupāviśan ||
Bhimasena, the great, mighty-armed one, encouraged the king: 'Out of regard for you, great king, for the wielder of Gandiva, and for the judgment that follows dharma, I have done nothing rash. I have constantly restrained Sahadeva and Nakula, though these destroyers of enemies, terrible in valor, are capable of annihilating our foes. We shall not abandon whatever course you set us upon. Ordain everything; we shall swiftly conquer our enemies.' After Bhima had spoken, the brahmins pronounced their highest blessings, took leave of the Bharatas, and returned each to his own home, longing to see them again. The knowers of the Vedas, the ascetics, and the sages foremost among them gave their blessing according to custom. The five Pandavas, together with the wise Dhaumya, rose and departed, taking Krishna with them. Having crossed about a krosha from that place, on the next day the heroes, preparing for their concealed dwelling -- all of them versed in various shastras, skilled in counsel, and knowing the times for peace and war -- sat down in council.
