अर्जुन उवाच
तस्यैव वरदानेन धर्मस्य मनुजाधिप ॥
अज्ञाता विचरिष्यामो नराणां भरतर्षभ ॥
किं तु वासाय राष्ट्राणि कीर्तयिष्यामि कानि चित् ॥
रमणीयानि गुप्तानि तेषां किं चित् स्म रोचय ॥
सन्ति रम्या जनपदा बह्वन्नाः परितः कुरून् ॥
पाञ्चालाश् चेदिमत्स्याश् च शूरसेनाः पटच्चराः ॥
दशार्णा नवराष्ट्रं च मल्लाः शाल्वा युगंधराः ॥
एतेषां कतमो राजन् निवासस् तव रोचते ॥
वत्स्यामो यत्र राजेन्द्र संवत्सरम् इमं वयम् ॥

kiṃ tu vāsāya rāṣṭrāṇi kīrtayiṣyāmi kāni cit ||

santi ramyā janapadā bahvannāḥ paritaḥ kurūn ||
pāñcālāś cedimatsyāś ca śūrasenāḥ paṭaccarāḥ ||
daśārṇā navarāṣṭraṃ ca mallāḥ śālvā yugaṃdharāḥ ||
eteṣāṃ katamo rājan nivāsas tava rocate ||
vatsyāmo yatra rājendra saṃvatsaram imaṃ vayam ||
Arjuna said: "By the boon of Dharma himself, lord of men, we shall walk among people unrecognized, bull of the Bharatas. But let me name a few countries, pleasant and well-protected; choose among them. Around the Kurus there are beautiful lands, rich in food: the Panchalas, Chedis, Matsyas, Shurasenas, Pattacharas, Dasharnas, Navarashtra, Mallas, Shalvas, and Yugandharas. Which of these, O king, is to your liking? Where shall we live out this year, O best of kings?"

The boon of Dharma does not annul human choice. The blessing grants possibility, but the place, the manner, and the measure of caution the Pandavas must determine for themselves.
