सहमित्रं सहामात्यं ससोदर्यं सहानुगम् ॥

नृशंस पापभूयिष्ठ क्षुद्रकर्मसहायवान् ॥
पापैः सहायैः संहत्य पापं कर्म चिकीर्षसि ॥
अशक्यम् अयशस्यं च सद्भिश् चापि विगर्हितम् ॥
यथा त्वादृशको मूढो व्यवस्येत् कुलपांसनः ॥

nṛśaṃsa pāpabhūyiṣṭha kṣudrakarmasahāyavān ||
pāpaiḥ sahāyaiḥ saṃhatya pāpaṃ karma cikīrṣasi ||
aśakyam ayaśasyaṃ ca sadbhiś cāpi vigarhitam ||
yathā tvādṛśako mūḍho vyavasyet kulapāṃsanaḥ ||
"Bring him together with his friends, counselors, blood brothers, and followers; perhaps I may yet bring him back onto the right path." Then the kshatta Vidura again brought Duryodhana into the assembly, unwilling as he was, surrounded by his brothers and by kings. Then King Dhritarashtra addressed Duryodhana, who stood there with Karna, Duhshasana, and the kings: "Cruel one, full of sin, surrounded by accomplices in base deeds! Having joined with wicked helpers, you wish to commit a wicked deed — impossible, inglorious, and condemned by the good, just as such a fool as you, a disgrace to your lineage, might well contrive."
