译文

"A curse upon the wealth for whose sake, in the slaying of kin, so great a destruction will unfold! In this war defeat awaits these friends of ours. If the Pandavas, the Chedis, the Panchalas and the Yadavas gather and do battle with the Bharatas, what grief could be greater than this? I see in this war certain fault and defeat; for the poor, death is better, for in the destruction of one's own family there is no victory. The grandsire, Shantanu's son, the teacher Drona, the lord of battles, and Karna, for Dhritarashtra's son's cause, increase my fear. Drona the teacher would never willingly fight against his own pupils; and how could the grandsire fail to hold heartfelt love for the Pandavas?"
